TARGARD 2008 CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES
How to Enter: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The 2008 TarGard Hunter Thompson Look-A-Like
Contest begins at 12:01 am Eastern Time (“ET”) on October 31, 2008 and ends at 11:59pm ET
on November 15, 2008 (“Contest Period”). To enter, after 12:01 am ET, October 31, 2008, log on
to the following link:

Fill in the on-line entry form, including all required information (name, complete address with
street, city, state and ZIP code, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.). No purchase is required
to enter. Submit your completed on-line entry in accordance with the on-screen instructions
during the Contest Period.

line entry form (name, complete address with street, city, state and ZIP code, telephone number,

Limit: One entry per person. Entries must be received by November 15, 2008 at 11:59pm ET.
Eligibility: To enter the Contest you must be a legal resident of the United States and be 18 years
of age or older as of October 31, 2008. Contest is void in Puerto Rico, the territories and
possessions of the U.S. and outside of the United States, and otherwise where restricted or
prohibited by law.
Voting and Notification: Voting is open to all legal residents of the United States. Voting will take place on the
TarGard website at www.targard.com/hunter_thompson.php from November 17, 2008 until December 1, 2008 at
11:59 pm EST and will be tracked by Venturi. No limit on # of votes per person. Potential prize winners will be
announced on approximately December 5, 2008 from all eligible entries who have entered the contest. Odds of
winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. Potential winners will be notified by phone or
email. If a potential winner cannot be reached within five (5) days from the first notification
attempt, then such person shall be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected.
Prizes: Three Prizes: Three winners will each receive one year’s supply of TarGard. Limit of
$350.00 (retail value) in TarGard product per winner for the period beginning December 1, 2008
and ending November 30, 2009. TarGard ordered during year period must be in-stock items
only. Any in-stock TarGard product may be ordered and applied against the $350.00. No transfer,
substitution, or cash equivalent for prizes allowed. Limit one winner per person/family/household.
If an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if he/she does not comply with the Official Rules, then the
potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. If prizes or prize
notifications are returned as undeliverable, this will result in disqualification and an alternate
winner will be selected. All federal, state or other tax liabilities (including income taxes) arising
from this Contest will be the sole responsibility of each winner. Prize winners may be issued an
IRS Form 1099 for the approximate retail value of any accepted prize.
Contest Conditions: This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. By
participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor
and Contest Administrator and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest or these Official
Rules. Winners and entrants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless
Contest Entities from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or
losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly
or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any
Contest-related activity or participation in this Contest.
Limitations of Liability: Contest Entities are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incorrectly
addressed or incomplete on-line entries due to system errors or failures, or faulty transmissions
or other telecommunications malfunctions and/or on-line entries not received resulting from any
hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed,
incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and
failures, or faulty transmissions, or for any problems or technical malfunction(s) of any telephone
network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, or entries
not received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, or
at a Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other
person’s computer related to or resulting from entering the Contest or downloading any material
for the Contest, or other telecommunications malfunctions which may limit an entrant’s ability to
participate. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if,
in its sole discretion, it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate
operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices
(including the use of quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any
other entrants or Sponsor representatives. Entrants who violate these Official Rules or engage in
any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Sponsor, the Contest or any other entrant (in each
case as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion) are subject to disqualification from entry into the
Contest. If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, but not
limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any
other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration,
security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion, then Sponsor reserves the right at
its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In the case of an entry
dispute, the entrant will be determined to be the natural person who is the on-line account holder
at the time of entry. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE
THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE
IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE
MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES
(INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT
OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
