How To Change a Cartridge Filter
The TarGard Cartridge Cigarette Filter is one of the most stylish cigarette filters available. It's available in two colors, which can be seen in the images to the left.
Each new cartridge cigarette filter kit purchased comes with both colors as well as 10 replaceable cartridges. This is great, because you essentially get two filters for the price of one! The cartridge needs to be changed every 4 - 8 cigarettes. We recommend that you use the amber colored filter first, until you're comfortable with knowing when to change the cartridge. The amber color is semi-transparent and will allow you to see how full the cartridge is.
If you need to purchase additional cartridges, we sell them in bulk 100 count bags.
Changing the cartridge is very easy. It's similar to changing the ink cartridge in a ball point pen.
It's helpful to reference the image below throughout the instructions.
- Unscrew the mouthpiece from the amber/silver colored ferrule.
- Remove the cartridge and check to see if it's full. You'll know that it's full if the tar has reached the last barrier. Usually this happens after smoking 4 - 8 cigarettes.
- Grab a replacement cigarette filter cartridge. If you look at the cartridge, you'll see a white end and a clear end. Take slide the cartridge into the mouthpiece, white end first, as shown in the image below.
- Screw the mouthpiece and ferrule back together.
